Real stories, real success

Want to hear from students who’ve been where you are now? These stories show the power of finding a place that sees your potential—and helps you turn it into something amazing.

“My degree gave me a great understanding of law and how it is practically applied by the Police, which gave me a great advantage during my real-world Police training. Having so much prior knowledge made the training feel more like a refresher than actual training, because everything that was covered in training had already been taught during my degree.

During my final year of study, myself and some of my peers were lucky enough to travel to Germany to network with German trainee police officers. We got to see the facilities they trained in and visit a number of police stations where we met serving police officers.”

Tom Cullen
BSc (Hons) Professional Policing

“I was given the opportunity to conduct qualitative evaluation and analysis for an intervention project focused on vaping in primary schools. This came about during my third-year module ‘Applying Psychology to Lifestyle Behaviour’, I enjoyed the content so much that I reached out to my professor, Dr Andy Levy, to offer my support on any future projects and this opportunity arose.

“This experience has allowed me to network and gain valuable insight into public health and has ultimately led me to continue my involvement in the project by studying on the MSc Health Psychology.”

Olivia Howe
BSc (Hons) Psychology

“The degree has provided me with invaluable opportunities, particularly through the inclusion of a placement year. With guidance from my tutors, I applied for placement opportunities and was fortunate enough to secure a position at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR).

This placement has been an outstanding experience, providing practical industry exposure that has significantly enriched my academic journey. This has provided me with essential industry experience, equipping me with insights that will set me apart in the competitive job market.”

Uzair Patel
