Rowan Chalmers, who has been supported by personal tutor Moira Steggles, is in the running for Student Learning Disabilities Nurse of the Year and Maggi Bradley is up for the Practice Supervisor of the Year award.
The University has also won nominations in the Partnership of the Year category for two projects:
- Teaching the lived experience, carried out by the Edge Hill Service User and Carer Group, led by Toni Bewley and Sue Waterson;
- And highlighting the importance of learning disability specialist students in primary care in partnership with Sefton Training Hub, led by Denise Dutton, Emma Galley and Andrew Jopson with the support of the wider nursing Lecturers in Practice Learning team.
Edge Hill’s School of Nursing and Midwifery also contributes to the Outreach Skills Clinic for Assessment project with the University of Chester and the Annexe Collaborative which has been shortlisted in the Teaching Innovation of the Year category.

The Student Nursing Times Awards celebrate the best of the next generation of nurses and their educators, providing the opportunity to congratulate lecturers, practice supervisors, universities, trusts and private organisations which are going above and beyond to support student nurses.
The winners will be announced at a live ceremony in London on Friday 28 April.
