Preparing your finances

If you intend to get help with paying your tuition fees and living expenses for your studies, now is the time to make sure your tuition and maintenance loans are in place. This will ensure that you receive your funding on time and your transition to University life runs smoothly.

Applying for student finance

If you have not yet applied for help with financing your studies, you should apply immediately at www.gov.uk/student-finance.* As the process can take some time it is important that you do not delay with making your application.

If your funding has not been approved at the time of enrolment evidence of your application will be required, such as a screenshot of your Student Finance application summary page.

Assessment of Funding

Once Student Finance has completed your assessment you will be sent paperwork showing your entitlement to funding. You can also check on the progress of your application online and see a copy of your assessment once it is available.

Please ensure that all of your details are correct, this includes:

  • The university you will be studying at
  • The course you will be studying
  • The tuition fee for your course.

If any of the above details are incorrect on your Student Finance paperwork please contact TuitionFees@edgehill.ac.uk.

If you are self-funding your studies, please contact the Fees, Scholarships and Bursaries Team by emailing TuitionFees@edgehill.ac.uk prior to enrolment.

When will I receive my funding?

Once you have fully enrolled, your first payment will be released. It can take up to five working days for payment to arrive, or longer, if you applied for funding late.

Providing you have an approved application with Student Finance, your maintenance loan/grant will be paid to you either on the date shown on your payment schedule from Student Finance or 3-5 working days after completing the enrolment process in full – whichever is the latter.

Bursaries

There is no application process for bursaries. Eligible students will be advised during enrolment and asked to provide bank details and National Insurance details to enable payment of the bursary.

More information regarding bursaries can be found on our website.

Your student finance checklist

Make sure that you:
