Support for teachers, tutors and careers advisers

The Education Liaison and Events Team value establishing and maintaining relationships with Teachers, Sixth Form / College Staff and Careers Advisers.

Each region of the country has a dedicated Education Liaison Officer who is your first point of contact in terms of us attending any event you may be running or to organise attendance at an event on campus. We recognise that subject staff may wish to liaise directly with corresponding academic staff which is something we try to facilitate where possible, and would ask in the first instance that you contact the Education Liaison Officer responsible for your area.

We full support schools, sixth forms and colleges in achieving their Gatsby Benchmarks, with our talks, workshops, sessions and visits all categorised to assist and support your students with their choices and future decisions as well as to meet your requirements as an institution.

Teachers’ and Careers Advisers’ Conference

This free, one day event will update you on the changing HE landscape and will give you the opportunity to share experiences and good practice with colleagues who provide post-16 information, advice and guidance (IAG) across a broad range of school and college settings.

Teacher, Tutor and Adviser Sessions

Each year we also offer a number of engaging and topical opportunities for staff regarding changes to the sector as well as Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities, as detailed below.

CPD/inset sessions

The team can deliver informative presentations in schools and colleges to teachers, tutors and careers advisers on a wide variety of topics, for example:

  • Student Finance
  • An overview of higher education and UCAS
  • Reference Writing/Personal statement advice.

If you would like us to deliver some CPD to your staff on any particular higher education topic, please get in touch with your regional Education Liaison Officer or email [email protected].

Teacher and adviser forum

We run a termly Teachers & Advisers forum for staff at sixth forms and colleges, each focusing on a different theme or topic depending on the current landscape within higher education. It’s an opportunity to feedback to ourselves and network with colleagues in similar roles.

If you or a colleague would find this opportunity useful and would like to be part of this forum going forward, please email [email protected].
