Assessment
Learn more about the pathways of accessing SpLD support and what to expect from your first contact with the service, through to undertaking a Diagnostic Assessment or Screener Assessment.
A good starting point if you are exploring any challenges is the SpLD checklist. This should help you consider whether you would like to explore anything further with the team.
All students can access support from the first engagement with the service and support can be arranged by contacting [email protected]
SpLD Assessment Information Session
Note: You should allow up to one hour for this group session.
During this session the team will guide you through the assessment options available at the university for dyslexia, dyspraxia and SpLD’s. We will also explain the accessible technologies and specialist study skills available as an anticipatory reasonable adjustment.
At the end of the session the Advisor will be happy to answer any questions and ensure you have access to support and technologies to begin to develop your study skills strategies.

In this session you will not be required to share any experiences about your educational experiences or discuss any difficulties you may be experiencing.
If you do choose to share any experiences, you will be supported to do so in a safe space. Students can choose whether to have their camera and microphone on and engage in a way that they find comfortable.
To access a SpLD Information Session please contact the team on [email protected] and colleagues will be in touch with further information.
