Our Societies

Edge Hill University’s School of Law and Criminal Justice is home to dynamic student societies. These student-led groups offer a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities, including internal competitions such as mootingnegotiation and criminal bail hearings. Societies also host networking events, guest speaker panels and social gatherings like the School Winter Ball. The societies main goal is to help students enjoy the full experiences of university life and get the most from it.

Annual highlights include the International Women’s Day panel, celebrating voices across the legal and justice sectors and Meet the Judges, a unique opportunity for students to engage directly with members of the judiciary and gain insights into legal careers.

The societies also offer a peer mentoring scheme, giving students someone to reach out to for support, advice or guidance throughout their studies.

Law society students sit outside the Law and Psychology building.
