Politics affects us all and never stands still. If you are curious about how decisions are made and communicated, why we have certain structures and organisations, and how they came to be formed, then we have the right degree for you.
Our politics degrees bring the real world of politics into the classroom and enable you to combine the study of politics with either criminology, law, history or sociology. As well as developing a thorough knowledge and understanding of your chosen subject specialism, you will gain a real-life understanding of politics, looking at current practice in the UK, while also focusing on changes around the world.

Real World Politics
Edge Hill Politics students undertake an annual visit to a UK Parliament (London, Edinburgh, Belfast or Cardiff) where they get a behind-the-scenes look, meet elected members and witness politics in action.
Visits to diplomatic missions (such as a recent visit to the Falkland Islands Government Office in London) or local councils, such as London City Hall or the Cunard Building, home of Liverpool City Council, are also part of the politics students off campus experiences.
The world of politics comes to Edge Hill via an extensive programme of guest speakers, from MPs to local councillors and political strategists.
Politics students undertake a Working in Politics module that gives them meaningful insights into different career pathways, through targeted talks by alumni and politics experts. The Work Placement allows our students to expand their work experience portfolio and grow their network of contacts.
