I’ve been fortunate enough to complete my final year placement in a school in Cumbria – learning first-hand how rural schools operate and teach differently to city schools.

To me, the best thing about Edge Hill University is the sense of community and support. From the beginning, I felt welcomed, not just as a student, but as someone training to become a professional.

My decision to study at Edge Hill was made after I attended an open day. The whole environment of the university is friendly and positive, and it was somewhere I could see myself thriving.

Edge Hill was the first university open day I came to, and the minute I walked on campus, I knew it was the place for me. Everyone I met was so lovely and welcoming.

I love the fact that I work with families from all over the world – you get to experience so much culture and it really opens your eyes to how vast the world is.

Teaching is not just inspiring new generations, it is being actively part of that formation yourself.

Studying at Edge Hill gave me the support, expertise, and challenge needed to become a confident class teacher.

That moment when a child understands a concept for the first time, it’s the most rewarding thing.

My favourite thing about my degree is the people and the opportunities. Everybody is so friendly and supportive.

I’ve had the opportunity to take on a number of placements which have given me hands-on experience of teaching in a real-life setting.
