Supporting you

When you become a student here, you’ll be allocated a Personal Tutor. They will be your main source of support in your academic department. They’ll be with you as you progress throughout your degree, supporting you in three areas: professional/career-related support, pastoral support and signposting you to information you need. But they aren’t just there when you need support. They are also there to celebrate your successes, help with planning your progress and much more.

Meet our students

At Edge Hill, you can expect to find unmissable opportunities and top-notch support from all our teams across the University. Listen to what our students have to say.

I have learnt so much about the biological, social, and psychological influences on mental health and wellbeing as well as developing a strong knowledge of the services, legislation, and therapies surrounding this field.

Mental Health student Emily

“I was pleased – and a bit nervous – to get a placement with a youth group in Wigan in my second year. I’d never had the opportunity to work with children before I came to university. I worked with children with a range of abilities who were struggling with anxiety and depression. I really enjoyed getting them to engage with me and helping them find coping strategies”

My favourite thing about my degree so far is understanding how mental illness can impact anyone, from any social class. Particularly how social and political influences can dictate outcomes.
