We’re delighted to be welcoming you to an Offer Holder Day, where you’ll have the chance to find out everything you need to know about what being a student at Edge Hill University is really like.

There’s plenty to see and do at an Offer Holder Day – so we recommend you plan your day ahead of time to make sure you get all the information you need. This page is packed with everything you, and your supporters, need to know to plan your day.

Throughout these events you’ll be guided by our friendly and helpful staff and students and can explore our beautiful, vibrant campus, attend practical subject sessions, visit our accommodation, and ask questions at our Student Experience Fair or 1-1 subject drop ins.

We’ll also give you a lanyard on the day to keep with you, with your subject session and useful information on.

Important information

Information desks are available in each building with staff on hand to answer any questions. If you have a question or you need some directions, events staff are easy to spot in bright purple vests and purple polo shirts.

Check in: When you arrive, head straight to the Hub to check in (we will direct you here). This is where you’ll be given your lanyard, supporter day planner and any important information about the day.

You don't need a permit or to enter your registration as ANPR cameras are not active during these events.

Our departments have put on sample sessions to help you get a feel for your chosen course and for the facilities you’ll be studying in.

Take a look below to see everything they have planned. All subject talks start at 10am and are around 90 minutes.

Subject drop ins

Drop in sessions are running throughout the events to give you and your supporters the chance to ask any questions you might have about your course, the facilities, the opportunities available and anything else you can think of to our lecturers and current students.

These drop in’s are a great way to learn even more about your course and life at Edge Hill, so we’d recommend leaving some time for you and your supporters to stop by after your subject session

Student Experience Fair

At the Student Experience Fair, you’ll find our support teams situated in the Hub and Hale Hall ready to tell you all you need to know. The fair is your chance to meet them and get your all-important questions answered. See below which teams you can find there, and some questions you could ask.

Parents and Supporters

As much as today is aimed at helping students decide whether EHU is right for them, it’s also to help supporters feel confident that EHU is a great place for their student.

While students are in their subject sessions, we encourage supporters to head to the dedicated talks we’ve arranged for you.

Faculty of Health (Map location 4)

Understanding university offers and what happens next 

This session is aimed at helping you as supporters to understand the offer process and your student’s next steps to university. It covers:

  • The types of offer your student can receive
  • What each offer means
  • Choosing their Firm and Insurance university
  • Supporting your student from offer to enrolment
  • What to expect on results day
  • Key information on Clearing
  • Question and answer session

Student Finance explained

This session is aimed at helping you understand Student Finance and the process your student will go through when applying, including:

  • Tuition fee loans
  • Maintenance loans
  • Scholarships and eligibility
  • Student finance information
  • Repayments
  • Support for students

We’re here to help

Information points

Staff at our Information Points, located in each Open Day building, are here to give you directions, answer your questions and help you if you need any assistance.

Filming and Photography

We’re proud of our events and we like to share them. So please note that we may be filming or taking photographs during your visit. If you have any concerns about this, please talk to a member of staff.

Food and drink

Open Days are full of new information, so be sure to take some time out from the excitement to reflect and enjoy some delicious food at one of our outlets. Keep an eye out for special offers on the day too. 

Toilets/baby changing facilities

Toilets (including accessible facilities) are available in each building on campus. Please ask any member of staff or Student Guide for directions. Baby changing facilities are available on the ground floor of the Business School and in the Main Building.

Faith and Reflection Room

Our Faith and Reflection Room is open for all visitors throughout the day. It’s a space for contemplation, prayer and reflection. To gain access, head to map point 18 or ask a member of staff or Student Guide who’ll take you there.

Quiet room

We’ve created a quiet space so, if you need to, you can take a break from the busy Open Day environment. Ask at our Information Point in the Business School and we’ll take you to our quiet room.

Illness or injury

If you or any of your party feel unwell or become injured while you’re here, please speak to staff at the nearest Information Point or in Registration. They’ll make any requests for additional assistance (e.g. first aid or ambulance requirements). 

Fire alarms

If you hear our fire alarm, leave the building by the nearest exit. Once outside the building, follow instructions from staff and Student Guides. We’ll let you know when it’s safe for you to go back inside a building.

Lost property

If you misplace any of your property during your visit or find an item you think belongs to someone else, let us know. Talk to a member of staff at one of our Information Points and they’ll assist you.
