Preparing for your university interview/audition: on campus

We hope you’re excited to start the next stage of your application to Edge Hill. Each course has put together their own guidance page to help you with the course specific elements of your interview/audition. But we’ve also brought together some tips to help you get prepared and make the most of your experience:

  1. Read your course specific preparation page. This will include any tasks you need to complete in preparation for your interview/audition.
  2. Planning your journey to the university is an important part of your preparation. Here you can find: Directions to our Ormskirk Campus and information on planning your route.
  3. We would strongly advise that you travel by public transport wherever possible, as parking on campus is limited and cannot be guaranteed. Please note, for your journey planning your destination train station should be Ormskirk.
  4. If you are planning to travel by car, please display this parking notice and allow plenty of time for your journey and parking. If the on-campus car park is full, you can find several parking options in Ormskirk town centre.
  5. Please arrive on campus at least 15 minutes before the start of your interview/audition. Further details of where you’ll need to go will be provided in your invite email or on your course specific guidance page
  6. We want you to feel comfortable while taking part in your interview. There is no requirement to dress in formal wear, but we ask that you present yourself as a future professional.
  7. For your audition only you may be participating in a practical workshop so make sure to wear suitable clothing that will enable you to move freely (no jeans, skirts, etc.). Changing rooms are available for you to use if you would prefer to bring your movement clothes with you and change into them before the workshop.
  8. Get to know the course and faculty you’re hoping to join using our website.
  9. Prepare your answers to questions. Remember, the interviewer wants to get to know you so answer honestly and confidently. Be professional but try and show what makes you unique.
  10. Think about any questions you would like to ask us. Remember this is also your chance to get answers you haven’t found yet.
