At Edge Hill University, we offer a range of postgraduate taught Masters degrees, as well as Postgraduate Certificates and Postgraduate Diplomas, across a wide range of subject areas. All our courses are designed with our students in mind, allowing you to enhance your knowledge and skillset, boosting your employability.

During your studies you will be supported by a Personal Tutor and can expect to attend a combination of seminars and tutorials along with preparing supervised coursework. Some programmes also require the completion of an assessed dissertation and/or an examination.

Your study options explained

Taught Masters degrees (LLM, MA, MBA, MSc)

Taught Masters degrees are typically one-year full-time or two to three years part-time. These qualifications are ideal if you want to study a subject in great detail, whether that be a subject you’ve studied at undergraduate level or something completely new.

Postgraduate Diplomas (PGDip)

Postgraduate Diplomas, unlike a taught Masters degree, they do not require you to undertake a dissertation. They are ideal if you wish to study an advanced courses without the requirement to undertake significant amounts of academic research.

Postgraduate Certificates (PGCert)

Postgraduate Certificates typically take just a few months to complete if undertaken on a full-time basis or around a year studying part-time. These are ideal if you wish to top-up existing qualifications or expand your knowledge to improve your career prospects.

As a postgraduate student, there is a range of off campus accommodation to suit you. Whether you choose to live in the heart of Ormskirk or opt to stay in the bustling city of Liverpool, there are plenty of options for you to call home.

Please note: You do not need to wait until you have completed your undergraduate degree to be able to apply for a postgraduate degree. If you are in the final year of an undergraduate degree, you can apply for a postgraduate course before you have your final degree classification. You will be able to submit your application without uploading a degree certificate at this stage. Any offers you do receive will be subject to you achieving the required undergraduate degree classification stated in the entry criteria for the relevant course and providing a copy of your degree certificate prior to starting the course.
