Social work
Discover – What can I do with my degree?
The majority of Social Work graduates and post-graduates progress directly into careers in social care and support, working in the public and not for profit sectors. The practical experience of working with vulnerable clients and dealing with challenging situations that you have gained from your course is highly valued by social care employers. The many transferable skills developed on the programme mean that you could also choose to explore other careers that don’t relate as directly to your degree.
Develop – Developing skills and experience
If you already have some career ideas, the next step will be to develop your skills and gain some experience to build your confidence and increase your knowledge. You may want to consider volunteering, part-time work or undertaking a placement, which will look fantastic on your CV and increase your chances of gaining graduate employment after completing your degree. It’s also a great way to try out career paths to see what you enjoy and if it’s a good fit for you.
