Joanne McVeigh is a Senior Lecturer in Physical Education and School Sport. She leads the level 5 Contemporary Issues in Practical Physical Education and School Sport Teaching module, which focuses on the theoretical and practical application of aesthetics activities.
She joined Edge Hill in 2010 having worked as a PE teacher at Parklands High School in Chorley (2005-2010). Undertook a PhD at Loughborough University in 2012 having completed a Pgcert in Higher Education at Edgehill University (2012) and a BA hons in Physical Education Sport and Dance with QTS (2005) at Liverpool John Moores.
Joanne’s research is on PETE, gymnastics, pedagogy, technology pedagogy and the macro/micropolitical issues that affect practice. The PhD focused on the integration of digital technology into a PETE (physical education teacher education) gymnastics programme and explored the associated micropolitics that influenced its use across varying contexts.
