He completed his PhD researching how the police define, identify and respond to vulnerability at the University of Central Lancashire.
He is also a judge on the sifting panel for the National Police Chiefs’ Council Problem Solving and Crime Prevention Programme’s national Tilley Awards, which celebrates problem-oriented projects that have successfully resolved problems experienced by communities.
His efforts in developing crime analysis standards led to being the recipient of the 2018 IALEIA (International Association of Law Enforcement Analysts) Service Award for “outstanding contribution as a supervisor to the achievement of law enforcement objectives”.
His research continues to support crime and intelligence analysis, and policing vulnerability.
