My lecturers are wonderful. They have helped me to develop the needed confidence to excel as a professional teacher, and I learned to reflect on my practice to identify areas for improvement.
Can you tell us about your background (education and or career to date?) and what inspired you to pursue a PGCE, what was it about Edge Hill University that attracted you?
I hold a degree in Political Science from Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria, and my career journey has been shaped by a deep passion for education and working with young people. Over the years, I have gained valuable experience teaching in both primary and secondary schools as a teaching assistant. My inspiration to pursue a PGCE in Primary Education was ignited by a strong desire to make a meaningful impact in the classroom, supporting children in both their academic and personal development. I have always believed that education is one of the most powerful tools for transformation, and I am eager to contribute to that process by helping to nurture curiosity that would inspire creativity and problem-solving skills in children.
Edge Hill University stood out to me for several reasons. Its strong reputation for excellence in teacher training, supportive learning environment, and vibrant community made it an ideal choice. I was particularly drawn to its emphasis on evidence-informed practice and its commitment to inclusive education.
