Kurt Gagen
Geography (BA Hons)
My role enables me to continue my love affair with London, retain involvement in the capital’s evolution, and to be able to promote planning as a great career.
Kurt is a Principal Planner for the City of London Corporation and believes it is the perfect job, a great career in his favourite city, providing modern, innovative buildings while safeguarding its historic character. Kurt is responsible for development, design, heritage and conservation, and has been involved in high profile schemes such as the Thames Tideway Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project, and the Bloomberg headquarters, sensitively developed around listed buildings in a conservation area. Since graduating he’s also been keen to share his experience, inviting our 3rd Year Applied GIS students to the capital to observe technology in action in the workplace.
“I’m grateful that my role has provided me with the opportunity to work on so many iconic and historic buildings and projects. My role enables me to continue my love affair with London, retain involvement in the capital’s evolution, and to be able to promote planning as a great career”.
