My favourite thing about my degree is when we complete practical exercises at the crime house.

My favourite thing about my degree is when we complete practical exercises at the crime house. I really enjoy this as it provides an opportunity to put into practice what we have studied in lectures. I prefer to learn practically so I can see how the things I have learnt can be used in a real-life situations.

My degree gave me the confidence to apply to become a special constable. This is something I would never have done if I did not study professional policing. Being a special constable has given me lots of experience and put me in situations that I would never have been in before.

I have learnt lots of new skills such as having to think through my powers and policies in pressured situations as well as having to deal with difficult people, all of which I will be able to use in any future employment.

The best things about student life at Edge Hill is the facilities available on campus such as the Catalyst and the Sports Centre, these are amazing. The accommodation provided on campus is some of the best university accommodation I have seen.

All lecturers on my course go above and beyond and are always willing to help. The university has helped me with both applications and job interviews. Setting up mock interviews and sessions for myself and other students to practice our interview skills. Since attending these sessions I am now more confident ahead of going into job interviews.

When I graduate, I am hoping to begin my full-time career as a police officer with Merseyside Police.
