Biography

Dr Naomi Hodgson is a specialist in educational philosophy and theory, focused specifically on poststructuralist and postcritical approaches to educational policy and practice and educational relationships. She graduated from the UCL Institute of Education in 2011 with a PhD in Philosophy of Education and has since developed an internationally-recognised research and held leadership positions in learned societies in the field. 

Research Interests

Critical and post-critical approaches to educational philosophy and theory on the following topics:

Upbringing and parenting

Digitisation of everyday life

Higher education policy and governance

Popular culture and education

Teaching

Dr Naomi Hodgson has developed and taught on MA courses in Education and supervised MA and MSc dissertations in educational philosophy and theory.  She has taught research methodology and ethics at all levels and has taught undergraduate level modules across the foundation disciplines of education.

She delivers guest lectures to MSc students at KU Leuven as part of their course on film and educational philosophy.
