Dr Anita Flynn is an Associate Head of Nurse Education within the Department of Nursing and Midwifery, School of Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professions, Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine, Edge Hill University.
Anita gained her Professional Doctorate (Health and Social Care) from the University of Salford in 2015. Her doctoral research focused on children’s nurse mentor experiences of undertaking assessment at sign off stage.
Prior to joining the Faculty, Anita had gained extensive experience of both adult and children’s nursing. Following completion of an MSc in Clinical Nursing, at the University of Liverpool in 1997, she was employed as a Nurse Clinician, introducing an advanced nurse practitioner role into existing acute paediatric services. In this role she gained specific experience in advanced/higher level practice within children’s nursing, undertaking high level clinical assessment and management of children and young people.
