The Ormskirk and Manchester-based university has placed top two in the North West (NW) for student satisfaction in the Complete University Guide 2027 (CUG), and been named best in the UK for accommodation by Uni Compare and best in the UK for education by Unifresher.
In the CUG Edge Hill ranked well in a number of subject areas including:
- 1st in the NW for paramedic science (also 10th overall in the UK and 1st in the NW for research quality) and sports science;
- 2nd in the NW for education;
- 3rd in the NW for food science and creative writing.
This league table also cemented Edge Hill’s reputation as one of the best universities in the UK for student satisfaction, placing 2nd in the NW and 16th out of 130 in the UK.
Subject-specific student satisfaction was also evident, with four areas reaching the UK top 10:
- accounting and finance – 1st in the NW and in the UK;
- law – 1st in NW and 4th nationally;
- food science – 2nd in NW, 3rd in UK;
- biomedical sciences – 2nd in NW, 10th in UK.

The 2027 Uni Compare results, published today, Tuesday 9 June, have also confirmed Edge Hill as a competitive choice for students.
This league table, based on student reviews and ratings, named Edge Hill as one of the best performing in the UK: best for accommodation for the fourth year running; 3rd for employability, 4th overall, and 6th for course quality.
The University has also recently been named the best in the UK for education-focused programmes in the Unifresher 2027 rankings, scoring 100% for teaching quality and 100% for academic support.
