Edge Hill University is top 20 for ‘happy graduates’ in major national league table

Edge Hill University has placed in the top 20 for ‘happy graduates’ in the 2026 Guardian University Guide.

84% of Edge Hill students surveyed 15 months after graduation were satisfied with their choice of university, according to data supplied by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA). 

The University has also achieved top 10 rankings in key subject areas, reflecting a commitment to deliver high-quality education and student satisfaction: 

  • Paramedic science – 2nd 
  • Midwifery – 6th 
  • Accounting and finance – 8th 
  • Biomedical science – 9th 
  • Biology – 10th

Subjects judged to be in the top 20 included: 

  • Nutrition and science food – 13th 
  • Creative writing – 14th 
  • Law – 20th

Vice-Chancellor Michael Young said: “We’re delighted to see such excellent results in this year’s Guardian University Guide; they are a powerful testament to the commitment and dedication of my colleagues. 

“This is the latest in a series of successes in student satisfaction and I’m thrilled that our students continue to reflect so positively on their time at Edge Hill now they have graduated and are pursuing their careers.” 

Successes in key healthcare subjects such as midwifery and paramedic practice are evidence of the University’s ongoing commitment to training the healthcare professionals of the future, supporting the NHS to achieve its long-term goals of building a stronger workforce and tackling health inequalities. 

These rankings highlight Edge Hill University’s academic excellence and its focus on ensuring students receive the best possible learning experience.
