Each year Student Life recruit a small team of Campus Connectors to support their events programme for the upcoming academic year, as well as a larger team of Student Helpers to support with Welcome Weekend.
Campus Connectors support a range of student experience orientated events and activities throughout the year and Student Helpers work collaboratively with FM to support students moving into halls over Welcome Weekend.
Please note that applications are now closed for the Campus Connector and Student Helper roles. Therefore, the information on this page will only apply to students who have progressed to the next stages of our recruitment process. If you missed out on applying this year we would encourage you to apply in the 2026/27 academic year
What do Campus Connectors and Student Helpers do?
There’s a range of opportunities available throughout the year but the core element of every role is to welcome students to Edge Hill and help them settle into university life. You’ll be a friendly face who has a good knowledge and understanding of life as an Edge Hill student. Helping to inform students about campus and the local area, upcoming events, student groups, opportunities and support services.

Interviews for Campus Connectors will take place on Tuesday 10 or Wednesday 11 June.
Training
Campus Connector training will take place on Thursday 26 and Friday 27 June.
Student Helper training: two-hour online training will take place WC 15 September.
Welcome Weekend 2025
Welcome Weekend will take place on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 September. Both Campus Connectors and Student Helpers will need to be available on these dates.

As a Campus Connector, you must also commit to working with the Student Life team throughout the 2025-26 academic year.
Recruitment Day Feedback
We will be offering feedback appointments to any candidates who were unsuccessful in securing an interview post recruitment day. You’ll receive further information about these in your outcome emails. Feedback sessions will take place on Thursday 5 June (PM).
I attended the Recruitment Day and haven’t heard back yet?

I didn’t get chance to attend the Recruitment Day. Is there any chance I can be considered for either of the roles?
Campus Connector Role: Unfortunately, as we’re working to a tight recruitment timeline, we’re unable to offer alternative dates or make exceptions to the deadline.
We really appreciate your interest in the roles and we hope you’ll consider applying again next year, if you’re still studying at EHU in 2026/27.
Student Helper Role: in the event we still have Student Helper roles to fill ahead of Welcome Weekend we will refer to a waiting list. You can ask to be put on the waiting list by emailing [email protected]
I’ve accepted the Student Helper role, now what?
We will be in touch over summer with further details related to your training and any other steps you may need to complete. For estimated training dates, please see question ‘what key dates do I need to be aware of?’ above.
I’ve booked my interview for the next stage of the Campus Connector recruitment process, now what?
If you’ve booked your interview slot by the deadline (Friday 6 June) – great. The email we sent you on Friday 30 May 2025 should have all the details you need but here’s a reminder:

Drop-in support is available at Careers Corner, Catalyst, weekdays 11am–1pm. No appointment necessary.
You will receive a follow up email after booking your slot with an Outlook calendar invite and a link to view your booking. You’ll be able to access the Microsoft Teams link to join the call from your booking on the Student Life Portal.
Please remember to:
Use a device that can download and run the Microsoft Teams app (laptop, tablet, or phone)
Make sure your device has a working microphone and camera
Find a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed during your interview time
Ensure you know how to access the Teams link prior to you interview – if you’re unsure just get in touch.
If you’ve booked an in-person interview:
You’ll receive a follow up email with your interview room number (in Creative Edge), closer to the date.
Arrive at least 5-10 minutes early to give yourself time to settle in and ensure for a prompt start at your allocated interview time. There will be a waiting area clearly signposted near the interview space, so please wait there. You will be collected by a member of staff when the interview panel is ready to see you. Please don’t knock on the interview door as it may disturb other candidates who are having their interview.
Double-check you know where the Creative Edge buildingis beforehand. Get in touch if you’re unsure where the allocated room is. If it helps this was the same building where we hosted the Recruitment Day. It is located on Number 14 on the Campus Map

Just be yourself
Try not to feel too nervous. This is more of a relaxed conversation so we can get to know you better. You’ll be given the interview questions at the start, so there won’t be any surprises.
I’ve booked my Campus Connector interview and also applied for the Marketing role, do I need to do anything else?
Yes. In your interview confirmation email you will have received pre-interview tasks that need to be completed by 3pm on Friday 6 June. You’ll need to email the completed tasks to [email protected].
If you have any issues accessing the pre-interview tasks, please contact us before the deadline so we can support.
After my interview, when should I expect to hear back from the Student Life team?
We hope to inform everyone of their interview outcome by the end of WC 16 June or WC 23 June. This is subject to change. So, please don’t worry if you haven’t heard from us by this time. Everyone will receive an email, regardless of the outcome.
