Dr Elke Weissman and local campaign group Love Wavertree CIC will launch the film On Thursday 16 June at 7pm in Wavertree Town Hall.  Anyone in the area can come and watch their friends and neighbours staring in the film, book your free ticket now.

Wavertree TV has been made with and for the local community. The programmes have bene made during climate change assemblies held in the area which explore community-led solutions to the climate crisis and what action local people want Liverpool Council to take to support them.

Dr Weissman said: “Wavertree residents have kindly lent me their time to help create some incredible television programmes all about local climate change concerns. I’m excited that we can now show the public the results of the work and can’t wait to see how effective it is in encouraging people to take action against climate change.”

The programmes have been made by Edge Hill University media students, with the support of researchers at the University of Liverpool’s Heseltine Institute for Public Policy, Practice and Place and community group Love Wavertree CIC

The British Academy funded the project as part of their Shared Understandings of a Sustainable Future, which funds projects examining a people-centred transition to Net Zero and sustainability.
