Where to find the software

Click on the Windows Start button choose ‘Tools for Learning’ and select the program you wish to use from the menu list.

We have the following applications available on the University network:

Claro Read    

Claro Read is Text-to-Speech software. You can read any on-screen text out loud and improve your writing in MS Word: Claro Software – Claro Read

Read & Write Gold

Read & Write literacy software makes lots of everyday literacy tasks simpler, quicker and more accurate. Its friendly features help English language learners as well as people with Dyslexia, or other learning difficulties: Text Help Read & Write Gold

Currently we have a temporary license for Read and Write which is available to all Edge Hill staff and students whilst social distancing measures remain in place.

Get in touch with the Catalyst Helpdesk virtually via email or live chat and we will be able to provide an instructional video and product key so you can download the software at home.

Inspiration software is a mindmapping tool which is ideal for ideation and organising your thoughts and ideas to create detailed plans that can support your academic writing: Inspiration
