As part of Edge Hill University’s celebrations to mark 90 years in Ormskirk, we are delighted to welcome Baroness Brenda Hale for a special talk at which she will discuss her life and career at the highest level of the British legal system
Baroness Hale’s storied career saw her serve as President of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom, one of the most senior legal positions in the country, from 2017 until her retirement in 2020. During this time, she was heavily involved in high-profile decisions, including the prorogation of Parliament over Brexit, and advocated for increased diversity in the judiciary.
In this talk, she will discuss such highlights as well as the challenges she overcame through her career and the lessons she learned from these.
The event will take place on Wednesday 6 March 2024, at our stunning campus in Ormskirk, West Lancashire. Welcome lunch is from 11.45am, with the talk starting promptly at 12.15pm, and we look forward to seeing you there.
