International Women’s Day 2024
As the first non-denominational teacher training college for women, Edge Hill was founded as an institution which broke traditional barriers for women and promoting women’s rights. Our University colours and graduation gowns still proudly display the colours of the suffrage movement.
We’ve come a long way since 1885, but even after decades of campaign, women’s rights remain an unfinished business.
To celebrate International Women’s Day 2024, and as part of our 90 years in Ormskirk celebrations, it is an honour to invite Edge Hill Honorary Doctorate, Lady Brenda Hale back on to campus on Wednesday 6 March, followed by a Women in Law panel discussion on Friday 9 March organised by our third-year law student, Megan Gough.
