The Faculty of Education at Edge Hill is honoured to be hosting the 2024 INPE conference ‘“Postcolonialism: Forging a Knowledge of Belonging”.
Our event will be a vibrant space of deliberation, dialogue, and debate, with philosophical papers reflecting on education in relation to the theme above and/or in relation to the following sub-themes:
- Knowledge and indigeneity
- Postcolonial identities, stories, and implications for democratic citizenship
- Essentialism and exceptionalism
- Postcolonialism and philosophy of education
- Postcolonial language, curricula, and pedagogies
- Early childhood education and development
- Adult/community education and vocational training
- Belonging, and social justice
- Activism in formal and informal education
- Postcolonialism and decolonisation
At Edge Hill University, the organising committee is chaired by Professor Amanda Fulford. The programme committee is chaired by Professor Nuraan Davids of Stellenbosch University.
We are delighted to welcome keynote speakers Dr Rowena Azada-Palacios, Professor Sabelo Ndlovu-Gatsheni and Professor Michalinos Zembylas.
