This interactive two-hour course provides a supportive space for staff and students to explore anti-racism and consider how we can actively contribute to more inclusive university, professional and community environments.
What to expect
Through discussion, reflection and practical activities, participants will explore how racism can operate at individual, cultural and institutional levels; consider the impact of bias, privilege and everyday behaviours; and examine the difference between being ‘not racist’ and actively anti-racist.
The session will move beyond awareness to focus on practical action, including recognising and challenging racism, responding constructively to difficult situations, developing allyship, and considering how our own practices can contribute to meaningful and sustained change.
No prior knowledge is required. The session is designed to encourage open, respectful dialogue and provide participants with practical approaches they can take forward into their studies, professional practice and wider university community.
