EHULSS is a student-led organisation created for and by Law students. Our society has a strong presence in the School of Law and Criminology, as well as a series of events planned for its members throughout the year. This helps new and existing students to enjoy the full experience of university life.

Here’s what Byron Austin, Society President, loves about the society:
“I’ve been involved with the society since my first year, and I’ve never looked back. I’ve loved getting involved as much as possible, and have learned so much along the way.
Being involved with the law society has allowed me to attend multiple external competitions and networking events, which have all been invaluable. I’ve become more confident, a more analytical thinker and a hell of a lot more open minded.
Society members can get involved with our student led competitions, which is a great way to put their legal knowledge into practice in a friendly, stress free environment. We also have a mentoring scheme to help students with adapting to university life or any academic challenges.
One of the most fun aspects of the society is our networking events – especially our summer/winter ball.
The best thing about being president is the level of responsibility it brings. I’m able to become the best student I can by working as a team and seeing society members grow academically, which gives me a great sense of achievement.
At first, I was shy and hesitant about joining the society, doubting whether I was good enough. Look at what I have achieved now – nothing is stopping you from doing the same. The support is there, all you need to do is take that first step.”
