The biology of the skin
Detail
The skin is the largest organ in the human body, covering up to two square metres of area in an adult. It is a
complex and amazing construct which permits us to live on earth (and not in the water, like a fish), as the
skin allows all fluids to remain inside the body and most environmental harm (like pollens, virus, bacteria
and pollutions caused by traffic or cigarette smokers) out of the body.
