International Foundation Programme
Students whose qualifications do not meet our general entrance or course requirements may need to take an International Foundation Programme to qualify for entry to an undergraduate degree programme.
Koto Gakko Sotsugyo Shomei Sho (Upper Secondary School Leaving Certificate): Minimum 5 subjects at grade 3 or above.
Undergraduate Programmes
Koto Gakko Sotsugyo Shomei Sho (Upper Secondary School Leaving Certificate): Minimum 5 subjects at grade 3 or above plus a recognised International Foundation Programme.
First year of Bachelor’s degree (Gakushi) may grant entry to first year of UG in the UK with grade Good/70-79%/Grade B/良(Ryō)or above.
The University may also consider students with good passes in their vocational degree (Senmonshi) or an associate degree (Jun-Gakushi) Grade: Good/70-79%/Grade B/良(Ryō)
International Baccalaureate
We are happy to accept students who have completed the IB qualification. We will use UCAS Tariff scores to assess a student’s suitability. Subject-specific requirements at Higher Level (HL) Grade 5 may apply. For clarity of entry requirements for the course you’re interested in, please contact the International Office.
Postgraduate Programmes
Bachelor’s degree (Gakushi) from a recognised Japanese university with a score of
– 65% for most courses requiring a 2:2
– 70% for most courses requiring a 2:1
