The personal data that Edge Hill University collects from you will be used for the purposes of processing your application and for the compilation of anonymous statistics. If your application is successful, this data will be used to form the basis of your student record.
All data will be held and processed securely in accordance with current UK Data Protection legislation and only disclosed where there is a legitimate requirement to do so. This includes supporting the conduct of referencing, to support accuracy of detail, support placement or partner activities or where there is a legitimate, statutory, and legal requirement to do so. Programmes delivered by affiliated Partner Organisations may also be provided with access to applicant data to support the decision-making process.
If you knowingly make any false statements or withhold any relevant information, this may result in the withdrawal of your application or any place offered by the University.
The University cannot be held liable for delays to applications resulting from failures of the system outside its direct control.

It is to be noted that the University retains basic records of candidates who do not become students.
Sensitive equal opportunities data is collected for the purpose of monitoring the effectiveness of the University’s Equality and Diversity Policy and Access Agreement and to provide anonymised statistical reports. This data is not used in the recruitment decision-making process.
