Research and Knowledge Exchange

The School of Law and Criminal Justice brings together expertise across the broad fields of law, criminal justice and policing. Our specialisms include sports law, international law, youth justice, law enforcement, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.

We are proud to be ranked 3rd in the North West for the quality and impact of our research. In the most recent national assessment of research excellence (REF2021),100% of our research impact was rated as ‘Outstanding’ or ‘Very Considerable’ and 73% of our research outputs were judged to be ‘World Leading’ or ‘Internationally Excellent’.

Through collaborative projects, consultancy, policy advice, public engagement and knowledge transfer partnerships, our School works with industry, government and community partners to create meaningful impact locally, regionally and nationally.
