The School of Law and Criminal Justice brings together expertise across the broad fields of law, criminal justice and policing. Our specialisms include sports law, international law, youth justice, law enforcement, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.

We are proud to be ranked 3^rd in the North West for the quality and impact of our research. In the most recent national assessment of research excellence (REF2021),100% of our research impact was rated as ‘Outstanding’ or ‘Very Considerable’ and 73% of our research outputs were judged to be ‘World Leading’ or ‘Internationally Excellent’.
