Leadership and Transformation in Children & Young People’s Mental Health (HUG4058)

Overview

This module has been designed to respond to the recognised need for radical transformations to service design and delivery to support children’s mental health & wellbeing by ensuring integration between the NHS, local authorities, voluntary and community services. The module is underpinned by a number of current policies, which impact upon the child and adolescent mental health agenda and shape understandings of leadership, which is perceived to be an evolving concept, responsive to the changing context.
With this rationale in mind, this module focuses on supporting students to recognise themselves as leaders/potential leader in transforming children’s mental health services. Students will be required to deconstruct and critically analyse leadership and transformation practices alongside a critical reflection of their own leadership competencies and abilities, enhancing self awareness, development and develop transferable skills for employability.
