- Saturday 4 February, 11.30am – 4.00pm
Your taster session will consist of a mini-lecture followed by practical activities that will show you our approaches to learning and teaching.
Activity 1: Mini-lecture
The mini-lecture will outline the nature and structure of your degree and highlight a current issue that affects professionals who work with children and their families.
Activity 2: Group task
You’ll work in a small group to look at ways to resolve a specific issue. Afterwards, you’ll reflect on the skills needed for effective teamwork and how your own particular strengths allow you to work well with others.
Activity 3: Your journey through university to your future career
Using a timeline, you’ll work in a collaborative way reflecting on the skills, experiences, knowledge and qualifications you already have and where you hope to be in your career after you graduate. How are you going to get there? What personal qualities or attributes do you think you possess that will enable you to succeed on this degree programme?
Q&A with students
At the end of session you can join in with a question and answer session led by our team of enthusiastic Student Academic Mentors.
