We’re really pleased to offer you a place on one of our Animation and Graphic Design courses. As part of the Department of Creative Arts, you’ll enjoy a rich academic experience, underpinned by an eclectic mix of staff. You’ll have the opportunity to carry out research into the next generation of creative arts professionals.

Are you ready to create your own worlds on screen? Animation is a hub for imagination and individuality. Get the practical experience you need for your creative career. Collaborate and experiment. That’s what University is all about.

Help shape the visual world and share messages without using words by studying Graphic Design. This new and exciting course is brought to you by expert tutors who are passionate about all aspects of Graphic Design. And they can’t wait to watch you share your own creativity too.

Facilities

Creativity informs and influences conversations around the world, which is why we’ve invested in the people, the kits and the environment to nurture and enable you – the next generation of creative minds. And you’ll be encouraged to enhance your creative vision by collaborating with our dance, drama and musical theatre students in The Arts Centre.

Based in Creative Edge, practical animation and graphic design work is supported by four dedicated studios equipped with 24” monitors with touch creative pen displays, as well as rostrum camera stations and rotational light boxes.

You’ll also have access to a variety of resources and software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Toon Boom Storyboard, Harmony Premium, Autodesk Maya, Cinema 4D and more. All of which will enhance your studies.

Creative Edge is also home to TV studios with broadcast capacity and full production capabilities, recording studios, sound editing suites, animation studios, a photographic studio, radio studio and a multimedia lab.

Supporting you

When you become a student here, you’ll be allocated a Personal Tutor. They will be your main source of support in your academic department. They’ll be with you as you progress throughout your degree, supporting you in three areas: professional/career-related support, pastoral support and signposting you to information you need. But they aren’t just there when you need support. They are also there to celebrate your successes, help with planning your progress and much more.
