- Please familiarise yourself with Microsoft Teams before your online interview. There are useful guides on YouTube to assist you.
What to do before your online interview
It is essential that you:
- Have your individual Microsoft Teams link. If you cannot find your link, please contact the Fastrack Programme Team via email: [email protected]
- When your interview invite arrives, please remember to accept or decline it as soon as possible. Your interview will then appear in your Microsoft Teams calendar.
- Dress appropriately. You are not expected to be in formal wear, however you should present yourself in a professional manner.
- We recommend using a PC or laptop rather than a mobile device for your interview. Please also check your microphone and camera are working prior to your interview.
- Make sure you’re in a quiet, appropriate environment where you will not be interrupted. Please also ensure you have a stable and reliable internet connection.
- Read all the information on this preparation page. It’s helpful to note down anything you need to have with you, along with any questions you’d like to ask during your interview.
- Have thought about, and can explain:
- why you want to study your chosen subject area
- your reasons for applying for this programme
- your own skills and attributes and how these might support you on this programme.
Other useful things to help you prepare:
- Take a moment to explore our What is Fastrack webpage. Make sure you fully understand what the programme involves and what to expect.
- Review the modules and content of the degree you hope to progress onto. This will help you check that your interests, goals, and plans are aligned with the subject you want to study.
- Make sure you’ve read all the information here, including the details about English Language Requirements.
Your online interview
You will have an individual interview with either a member of the Edge Hill University Fastrack Team or a subject tutor. Please click your Microsoft Teams link 5 minutes before the scheduled start time.
- Please aim to join at least 5 minutes before your scheduled start time. When you enter the meeting, you’ll be placed in a lobby. The interviewer will admit you as soon as they’re ready, which may be once their previous interview has finished.
- If you have not been admitted after 15 minutes, please email [email protected].
What to have with you
You will need to have the following to hand on the day:
Photographic ID
Please have to hand your original photographic ID (i.e. current valid passport or photo-card driving licence). Your ID will be checked by the staff interviewer prior to the start of the process.
