ORCID is an independent non-profit organisation that provides a persistent identifier – an ORCID iD – that distinguishes you from other researchers and acts as a mechanism for linking your research outputs, other work and details to your unique iD.

Providing your iD to publishers, funders, and other bodies, and adding it to your staff/student Pure profile can help to automate some updates to your research profile – they can send information to ORCID and ORCID can send information to them.

Edge Hill has no admin access to your ORCID account: you have full control and decide what can read/write to it. You can also control your account’s overall visibility.
