Studying in a new country is certainly a transformative experience that offers numerous opportunities and possibilities for an international student. Edge Hill University is a great institution in this regard offering international students maximum support, amazing campus life, and quality education. My personal experience with EHU certainly exceeded my expectations with incredible student support, skill development opportunities, and learning experiences.

 

One of the main reasons I chose EHU was my course, specifically the research opportunities and resources in Edge Hill’s psychology department. After joining the course, I got to know that the department also offers research internships for students to gain practical lab experience research skills for their academic and professional growth. I found the faculty members to be extremely helpful and approachable, dedicated to support students in every way. My research supervisors have been extremely helpful in aligning my previous academic knowledge with my current course to design my dissertation project in a way that matched my research interests and career goals. This support in addition to the advanced research technologies and resources available in the department has contributed to a great extent in making my student experience invaluable here.

 

Other than the academic experience, Edge Hill also offers exceptional support in helping international students settle in and enjoy the cultural diversity. Various events and trips were organized by international student department throughout the year to promote cultural awareness and understanding. The Global Cafe was the highlight of it, a great experience to learn about the local British culture as well as diverse cultures around the world. For international students like me, it helped with the anxiety of being in a new and foreign cultural environment. It not only promoted cultural integration but also helped in making friends and socialising.

 

My advice to the prospective students considering Edge Hill would be to make the most out of the amazing opportunities this university offers; use the academic support and mentorship; enjoy the rich campus life. For international students, do not hesitate to ask for help and use the available student support services, participate in all Global Cafe activities, connect with other international students if you are experiencing homesickness or having difficulty with cultural integration, it truly helps.

 

My academic as well as the overall university experience has been amazing with this university. EHU has a lot to offer with its exceptional student support and learning opportunities. I highly recommend prospective students to consider EHU for its inclusivity and academic excellence, they will not regret it.
