Edge Hill offered a great jumpstart to help me effectively shift to sectors promoting biodiversity and sustainable practices – by teaching crucial, practical courses that would make me stand out in a competitive job market.

Acknowledging the rapid decline in biodiversity and the climate emergency that we are facing right now, I wanted to transition to a career where my current background and skills could make a genuine difference to the planet – this is why I chose to study MSc Conservation Management at Edge Hill University.

The programme is ideal for someone like me who does not have a science background as the department offers learning services like additional training and one-to-one tutor sessions to help me adapt to the challenges of studying something entirely new.

What I like most about the programme is that the modular activities are designed to provide students with the necessary professional field and laboratory skills. These skills are valued by prospective employers, having it accredited by The Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM). Having a predominantly field-based module (i.e., a residential field trip), meanwhile, also provided me with a better understanding on sustainable habitat management practices.

Ultimately, Edge Hill offered a great jumpstart to help me effectively shift to sectors promoting biodiversity and sustainable practices – by teaching crucial, practical courses that would make me stand out in a competitive job market.
