Electrical Engineering

My most memorable moment so far is working on my robot arm in professional practice. I remember working long hours with my friends to achieve what I consider one of my greatest accomplishments.
I’ve always been good at problem solving and mathematics. When graduating high school in 2020 I was unsure of my plan, however my brother made me realise my passion for engineering. He was one of my main inspirations in attending university and I believe that he was the one to steer me in the correct direction for choosing a university degree that I fell in love with. One of my friends attended Edge Hill and I was captivated by what they had to say about it. I knew I wanted to move away from home, so I attended an open day at Edge Hill.
My self-confidence has greatly improved whilst studying this degree. I have struggled with feeling as though I am not good enough for the course, however through putting the work in and receiving feedback on my work, I’ve realised that I am able to achieve my goals. There are many projects that I have had to work on with more than one person, which has developed my communication and team working skills.
My most memorable moment so far is working on my robot arm in professional practice. I remember working long hours with my friends to achieve what I consider one of my greatest achievements. We all worked together to fix any potential problems with the robot arm until the day we presented it, where we all passed with flying colours.
My favourite place on campus is both the Catalyst and the engineering labs. They have all the facilities and learning resources that I need for my degree, especially the 24/7 access to the Catalyst. When I graduate I hope to become a Wind Turbine Engineer.
I’ve appreciated the support of the staff on my degree. If I am ever unsure about anything I’ve been able to ask my lecturers, who have helped me to understand it.
