My favourite thing about my degree is the people and the opportunities. Everybody is so friendly and supportive – especially my PAT (Personal Academic Tutor). When on professional practice, my mentors were brilliant.
This degree has supported me professionally and with my voluntary work at my home Scout group. I am now volunteering in a local primary school and supporting a year 3 class. This will enhance my soft skills ready for employability next year.
The best things about student life at Edge Hill are my friends. No one will turn anyone away, instead we’ll support each other as best as we can. This can be both academically and emotionally.
The Study Skills workshops Edge Hill offer are really useful, especially last year when I was struggling with academic writing. UniSkills now regularly come into our lectures and remind us of the expectations for academic writing. All other services are well advertised across the university and I know where to find help if I need to.
When I graduate I hope to go straight into teaching, specifically having a focus on the pastoral side of education.
