Biography
My career in education began as a class teacher for eighteen years specifically teaching the 3 – 7 age range. My positions of responsibility included geography and mathematics subject lead, being part of the senior leadership team, a local authority key stage one moderator and a Specialist Leader in Education (SLE).
I am currently a lecturer in Initial Teacher Education as a member of the Primary Early Years Department working on both the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
I have recently completed a Post Graduate Certificate in the Teaching of Higher Education to become a member of the FHEA and I am currently completing a Masters in Educational Practice in Mathematics.
Research Interests
My current research interests include early years mathematical pedagogy, geography and design and technology. I am also interested in the development of Intensive Training and Practice (ITaP) as a key aspect of ITE.
Teaching
My current teaching role involves teaching on the BA (hons) Primary Early Years with QTS Undergraduate and the Primary Early Years Post Graduate QTS courses.
My responsibilities include Intensive Training and Practice (ITaP) co-ordinator and geography and design and technology subject lead.
