Profile
Biography
I have worked at Edge Hill University for 20 years teaching on a range of clinical and education CPD modules and programmes. I originally trained as a Registered Nurse and worked in adult critical care for 10 years where I developed a strong interest in clinical education. I have an MA in Professional Education and I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I have held the role of University Learning and Teaching Fellow on two occasions with a fellowship focus on enhancing the learning experience for postgraduate taught students on a range of medical/clinical education programmes.
My professional expertise is in educator development, and I lead modules on learning, teaching and assessment in the medical workplace and in mentoring and coaching. I work closely with partner organisations such as the Royal College of Physicians and Health Education England North West in the delivery of the modules.
My research interests include reflective practice and e-portfolios and I supervise students undertaking Masters-level dissertation research in the field of clinical education.
