Research interests include: nutrition education of midwives; maternal nutrition, overweight and underweight in pregnancy; diabetes and pregnancy; diabetes and breastfeeding and chronic radiation enteritis.

Previous projects include ‘Fit for Birth’ – a longitudinal cohort study of pregnant women living with obesity at Liverpool Women’s Hospital and two qualitative studies exploring the experiences of midwives and pregnant women regarding healthy eating and weight management advice during pregnancy.

I am currently involved with three research projects that involves collecting dietary data from women to determine their nutritional intake and compare this to recommended intakes: 1) women who have experienced multiple miscarriage 2) black pregnant women 3) women taking part in an intervention called ‘Mamafit’.

I represent Edge Hill University on the Research committee at Liverpool Women’s Hospital.
