Profile

Biography

Chinebuli is a Senior Research Fellow at the Unit for Evaluation and Policy Analysis (EPA), Edge Hill University where she is involved in the design, execution, and coordination of service evaluation programmes within a wide range of sectors.

Before joining EPA, Chinebuli taught and conducted research at both Federal University of Technology Owerri Nigeria and the Institute for Transport Studies, University of Leeds United Kingdom. Her research seeks to understand the environmental and social causes, consequences, and policy implications of transport problems especially transport safety and urban mobility, through projects funded by various national and international governments and research organisations. This involves using both quantitative and qualitative research methods, to inform design of transportation services including infrastructure and/or technology interventions, and to evaluate the effectiveness of these interventions especially as it affects vulnerable road users. She has keen interest in contributing to improving safe mobility and promoting active travel and how research could inform policy in this direction.

She has recently completed a UKRI-GCRF funded project which provides an analysis of the exposure risk trade-off between public transit and private paratransits in the era of COVID 19 and a Volvo Research and Educational Foundation (VREF) funded project exploring the mobility needs of older persons in Nigeria and Uganda.

Chinebuli has been a module/course leader for various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, teaching and supervising diverse groups of students in developed and developing countries. She has published and presented her work at various national and international conferences and workshops across Africa, Europe and the United States.

She holds a PhD degree in Human Factors and Safety (Institute for Transport Studies, University of Leeds UK), an MSc in Transport Management Technology and a B.Tech in Project Management Technology both from the Federal University of Technology Owerri Nigeria.
