Research Interests
Ben’s research aims to contribute to the development of knowledge which has the potential to enhance people’s functional capabilities and improve quality of life, by maximising performance, reducing injury risk or the influence of musculoskeletal conditions. Broadly, Ben’s research interests focus on running, footwear and clinical biomechanics and he has experience of developing research programmes within each of these areas. Ben is particularly interested in functional grouping and understanding why groups of individuals respond in a similar way to specific interventions or conditions through the application of machine learning and waveform analysis. Ben has published 20 peer reviewed publications and presented at numerous National and International conferences.
Teaching
Ben is a Senior Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Biomechanics. He teaches on the BSc Sport and Exercise Science programme within the Department of Sport and Physical Activity. Ben current leads modules primarily related to Biomechanics.
