Biography

I joined Edge Hill University as a Lecturer in Business and Management in 2020. I hold a B.Sc. in Computer Sciences, M.Sc. in Human Resources Management and a PhD.  At Edge Hill, I have been teaching on Leading Lancashire program – this was an executive education program designed for aspiring, middle and senior managers working in SMEs in the Lancashire region; the modules included Strategic Management, Personal Leadership Development, Change Management, Stakeholders’ management, and Coaching and Mentoring. Previously I have taught Computing and Management and ICT courses where I have enjoyed teaching, a variety of ICT and management subjects and Computer Science programming languages. Prior to my current work as an academic, I have worked in the finance and higher education sector in various Marketing and Operations roles, which has, over the years, equipped me with numerous key skills to be able to develop a positive relationship with students and help them enhance their engagement with studies and life at the university.

As a lecturer for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the Business school, I teach modules on Human Resource Management and Strategic Management, Organizational Behaviour, Operations Management and Corporate Social Responsibility.

My research interests include leadership, power, gender, and identity with a particular focus on gendered organizations and how women’s careers are affected by dominant cultural discourse(s). I have a keen interest in philosophy and the research work of Emile Durkheim, Pierre Bourdieu, Michael Foucault and Antonio Gramsci.
