I expected Uni to be hard since I’d be dealing with my day-to-day life in my second language, but life at Edge Hill has been easy to settle into. I came to the university alone and the moving-in experience was smooth thanks to the Edge Hill staff.

One of the best things about Edgehill is the campus itself.  It has a very calm surroundings and Edge Hill is very environmentally friendly. There is always a bunny running around or a duck with its ducklings roaming around. The campus is surrounded by trees and there are two lakes on campus. A walk around the campus is the best remedy for a stressful day and a little visit to the campus cat completes your day.

I expected Uni to be hard since I’d be dealing with my day-to-day life in my second language, but life at Edge Hill has been easy to settle into. I came to the university alone and the moving-in experience was smooth thanks to the Edge Hill staff. I’m not a very social person I’m mostly introverted but I’m happy to say I met some amazing people at Edge Hill.  I made most of the friends I have now by doing a group project organized by the biology department in the first semester.  And I met some more amazing people through the global café.

When it comes to academics the lecturers have been great and very supportive. My favourite part about the lectures is the practical’s, we did a variety of practical’s in almost all the modules which I enjoyed a lot.

My personal tutor was very supportive throughout the year in getting me to settle down in Uni and getting me to thrive in my studies.

When I first came to University, I had a hard time settling in, and dealing with the homesickness, Edgehill offers wellbeing services which helped me settle in and deal with the homesickness and everything else. Making friends along the way and being more involved with my studies and extra curriculars helped me deal with the homesickness which was all encouraged by the wellbeing team. The part I love most about the Edge Hill support system is that they have a team for everything, money matters, mental health, academic support and also careers help team.

The main reason I wanted to study at Edge Hill was because it offered most of the modules, I liked such as Anatomy and physiology and chemistry and most of the modules I needed for my career such as Laboratory master class and cell Biology. Edge Hill is also among the most affordable Universities in the UK offering Biomedical Science, Ormskirk also has a lower living cost than most of the other places in the UK.
